BoD Adopts New Rules Regarding Trash Collection
11-15-07
Residents have always had to comply with HOA rules that stipulate that trash cans and recycling bins must be stored out of sight. In addition, trash cans and recycling bins must be removed from the front curb following trash pick-up and are never to be stored in front of the house or remain in public view on non collection days.
Recently, the Board of Directors has determined that the current rule regarding the storage of trash containers and other issues required further supplementation and clarification and adopted Regulatory Resolution 2007-10, "Rules/Regulations Regarding Trash Collection."
Effective immediately, trash must be stored in secure container(s) and put out for collection on trash collection days only. Current collection days are Tuesday and Friday with recycling on Tuesday, but may change from time to time. Trash and recycling containers shall not be put on the curb earlier than 6:00 p.m. on the day before trash collection. Trash containers must be removed from public view by 9:00 p.m. on trash collection days.
These rules/regulations are promulgated pursuant to Va. Code § 55-513 and Section 8.3 of the Declaration, and shall be enforced by the Association through the implementation of the legal remedies set forth in that statutory provision, including the assessment of charges for the violation thereof.

Neighborhood Watch Program Report
11-10-07
On November 7th, nine residents from Dominion Station met for the third Neighborhood Watch Program (NWP) meeting, which was hosted by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Deputy Specialist Jason Leydig described recent crime statistics within our community, efforts to decrease speeding along Magnolia Road, community policing, the Sheriff's Auxiliary, and holiday safety tips.
The main objectives of the NWP is to reduce the incidence of crime by increasing citizens' awareness of burglary and other neighborhood crime through a continuing information program; making recommendations to assist citizens in making their property more secure; developing a neighborhood action program where neighbors help watch each others property and report suspicious persons and activities to the Sheriff's Office; and encouraging all citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in reporting crimes.
If you would like to join the NWP and/or receive more information, please contact the NWP Co-Chairs Lisa Eyler at (703) 501-2043 or Melissa Fishman at (703) 298-4482. If you witness suspicious criminal activity, please report it to the Sheriff's Department—call 911 if it is an emergency, or call (703) 777-1021 if it is not an emergency.

Ad-hoc Committee Created to Identify Community Issues
10-27-07

The committee will be tasked to identify and report on needs which are specific to the items identified by the Potomac District Planned and Managed Growth Committee. The ad-hoc committee will also engage with other nearby communities to identify any collective efforts which will enhance the overall landscape of areas around our community. This will be a very effective way to formally request for enhancements around our community from the County.
If anyone is interested in being on the committee, please contact David Robinette at president@dshoa.com for more information. Remember that it takes all of us together to make our community the best place to live in Loudoun!
